By the way, I haven’t been slacking off. The C++11 Concurrency Series of video tutorials is now at the fifth installment (there are links to the previous tutorials as well). I’ve covered threads, fork/join, futures, promises, async tasks, task-based concurrency and much more. Next time I’ll try to gently introduce elements of map/reduce. I’m surprised how much can be done without locks and traditional synchronization (although those will come later in the series).
